The live root now asks for 100dvh instead (set inline, in config.tsx, so the editor's auto-height canvas is left out of it). Filling the window is only half of it. The footer still has to sit ON the bottom edge rather than halfway up it, which is what the auto margin does: in a column flex box it absorbs whatever height is left over. flex:none on everything else keeps each section exactly as tall as its content, the way it was as a block — without it a tall page would squash its sections to fit. */ .sf-root { display: flex; flex-direction: column; } .sf-root > * { flex: none; } .sf-root > footer:last-child { margin-top: auto; } .sf-section { padding-top: var(--sf-pad, 0px); padding-bottom: var(--sf-pad, 0px); } .sf-container { width: 100%; max-width: var(--sf-inner, var(--sf-max)); margin: 0 auto; padding-inline: var(--sf-gutter); } /* ---- Product grids ------------------------------------------------------- Fill wide canvases without stretching a few cards into oversized posters. 212px keeps fashion imagery legible while allowing the 1400px page setting to earn its width; tablet and phone layouts keep the merchant's explicit lower-density choices below. */ .sf-grid { display: grid; gap: 24px; grid-template-columns: repeat(var(--sf-cols, 4), minmax(0, 1fr)); width: 100%; max-width: 1232px; margin-inline: auto; } @media (max-width: 1024px) { .sf-grid { grid-template-columns: repeat(var(--sf-cols-md, 2), minmax(0, 1fr)); } } @media (max-width: 640px) { .sf-grid { grid-template-columns: repeat(var(--sf-cols-sm, 1), minmax(0, 1fr)); } } /* ---- Column container ---------------------------------------------------- The Columns section, which holds other sections. The seam problem is the groups' width: two copies of "Free shipping" are 600px on a 1440px bar, and translating half of that would show the bar emptying and refilling. min-width:100vw puts a floor under each group — the bar is full-bleed, so a viewport width is its width — which makes the track at least 200vw and the half-slide always at least a full screen. space-around then spreads a short message across its group rather than leaving it hugging one edge. Both halves of that are deliberate, and the obvious alternatives are each broken in a way that only shows up on a tall image. It was a grid with place-items: center, and max-height: 100% on the picture. That constraint was silently doing nothing: a centred grid item does not stretch, so the row track is sized to the item's own content, and a percentage height against a track whose size depends on that very item is cyclic — so it resolves to none. A 1200 x 4000 size chart therefore painted at four thousand pixels tall, overflowing a container with nothing to scroll it. The shopper got the middle of a chart and no way to reach the rest. Flex fixes the percentage: the container is position: fixed; inset: 0, so its content box is a definite size and max-height: 100% on a flex item resolves against it. margin: auto rather than align-items: center because the picture may be LARGER than the box in actual-size mode. Centring a flex item that overflows pushes its top and left edges past the container's start edge, and a scroll container cannot scroll to negative offsets — so the top of a zoomed chart becomes unreachable, which is the same bug again wearing a different hat. Same -50% slide, and for the same reason: the tail has to be on screen before the head leaves, and measuring anything would mean doing it on the client after paint. What differs is how the track is made wide enough that the seam never shows. The announcement bar puts a 100vw floor under each of its two groups. That floor cannot work here: the track is width:max-content, so a percentage inside it resolves against a width the content itself is deciding, and 100vw would overflow a contained strip. Instead the SECTION decides how many copies of the set to emit, from the card width and the number of cards — arithmetic it can do on the server — and always emits an even number so that half the track is a whole number of copies.
